The only way to determine which mattress is “perfect” for you is by testing it out. Plenty of showrooms allow people to try out the mattresses, or if you want to make sure you can get an in-home trial. This way, you won’t make an investment that you’ll end up regretting.

Effects of a New Quality Mattress

Not having the support and comfort needed for your sleep cycle can have a deep impact on mental health – given that poor sleep is linked with moodiness and even depression. If you make sure that the mattress you pick is the right one for you, not only will you get more quality sleep, but the mattress should also help improve memory, keep your mood elevated, and sharpen your ability to focus. According to a small study done back in 2009, 59 people slept on their regular mattresses for 28 consecutive nights, followed by 28 night of sleep on a new, medium-firm mattress. When asked to evaluate their stress levels, the results showed that the new beds provided them with a decrease in stress – possibly due to the fact that sleep quality was better and there was a decrease in pain. The study was done by the Oklahoma State University, and the new beds showed 48% improvement as far as back pain goes, and a 55% increase in sleep quality.
