Instacart is an online personal shopping and delivery service. Earn money by picking up grocery store items for customers, checking their availability in your area, and delivering them to their homes using your car. Customers pay a delivery fee that you keep as a tip, in addition to the cost of their groceries. The more time you spend on each order, the less likely you are to make money with Instacart — it’s a delicate balance of how much time you want to spend vs how much money you can make. How much do Instacart shoppers make in a day? Read on to find out.

How Much Can You Make With Instacart In A Day?

It all depends on how much you hustle, but in my case, I will tell you that if you hustle well then you can earn around 70-80$ a day if your delivery is done on time and if there is no order cancellation. If you carefully listen to customers’ needs, then things will be easier for you, and more money can be made. So my suggestion is that, try your best and listen to the customer’s needs carefully.

How To Find Shifting Jobs With Instacart?

    1. There are two ways to get Instacart shifting jobs. First, you can apply online, either on your own or through a job board. Second, you can connect with local shoppers, who might have a few extra shifts for you. Both methods are easy, but the second one gives you more control over your work schedule and the ability to work for multiple people.
    2.  If you want to find shifting jobs, the best place to start is Craigslist. Search for the “Gig” section of your nearest city, and you’ll find a section for online and physical odd jobs. There are plenty of people hiring Instacart shoppers in your area, so you should be able to find a few people who you can set up a schedule with.

How To Earn More With Instacart?

    Meet with clients regularly

If you want to make more money with Instacart, you’ll need to get some regular clients. This is easier than you might think: simply find a couple of clients who are willing to meet with you regularly. Pick a few people you know who are likely to order from you frequently. Then, set a schedule to visit their home or meet with them at a pre-determined place regularly. Let them know you’re available to come by and pick up their groceries for them. This will allow you to build up a stable of clients who regularly order from you, which means more consistent work and more money for you.

Be efficient & have quality Instacart items

One of the biggest ways you can earn more with Instacart is by being efficient when picking out items. Try to go through each order and make sure each item is quality and appropriate for the customer. If you don’t have a produce scale, consider buying one or weighing items manually. If you have a large enough car, consider adding a second seat, or even a seat cover to protect against spills and damage. Try to keep your car organized and make sure everything is clean and easy to reach. This will make it easier to do your job and have your items ready to go.

    Be a flexible Shopper

If you want to make more money with Instacart, you’ll need to be a flexible shopper. While you’re earning a percentage of each order’s earnings, you can also increase your hourly pay rate by choosing the best times to complete each order. This way, you’re still being paid for the time you actually spend fulfilling orders. Try to complete orders when you have free time during your day, like when you’re waiting at the doctor’s office or sitting in traffic. If you’re looking for more work, browse the app during slow times and place yourself as “available” for any new orders that come in.

    Earn bonuses

Instacart shoppers can earn bonuses for a variety of reasons, like touching customers’ hearts with their promptness and efficiency, or they can be given as incentives by the customer. You can also earn bonuses by completing certain tasks, like referring a friend to join the platform or attending a special event hosted by Instacart. These bonuses can help make up for low per-order earnings and help you make more money with Instacart. If you want to make more money with Instacart, you’ll need to be a great customer service representative. Remember that reputation is everything in this gig economy, so treat each order like it’s your last.

Why You Should Not Sign Up To Be An Instacart Shopper?

Instacart drivers are not paid enough

If you are looking for a steady, full-time job, Instacart is not the place for you. The company does not offer any benefits, and they don’t have a set schedule. If you sign up to be an Instacart shopper, you’ll make $18 to $20 an hour, which is less than minimum wage. If you work full-time at $18 an hour, you’ll make less than $30,000 a year, which is below the poverty line. If you have dependents, you will have a hard time making ends meet with this job alone. To make things worse, Instacart doesn’t have set hours. They give you a few hours here and there, and you’ll have to accept them. If you need a steady income, this isn’t the job for you as an Instacart shopper.

You’ll be driving for 12 hours a day

If you sign up to be an Instacart shopper, you’ll be expected to drive for 12 hours a day. If you sign up for a few hours here and there, you might be driving for the whole day. If you want to make a decent amount of money, you’ll have to drive for these 12 hours and make as many runs as you can. Driving for 12 hours a day can be dangerous, especially if you are driving in bad weather. If you often have to drive in bad weather, you might want to reconsider being an Instacart shopper. Driving for this long will take a toll on your car, too, which will end up costing you more money. If you want to make money with this job, it makes sense, but if you want to be safe, you might want to reconsider this job.

You’ll have to deal with rude customers

Being an Instacart shopper can get annoying when customers are rude to you. You might have to deal with people who are impatient and don’t understand the way this app works. If they have special requests, they might be rude. If they don’t like your service, they can report you and get you fired. You never know who will be in your car or what they might do. If you have a family, you might not want to sign up to be an Instacart shopper. If you don’t have a family, this shouldn’t bother you too much. If you are a people person, you can take these experiences as an opportunity to practice getting better at dealing with people. There is always a silver lining, but it all depends on how you look at things. If you want to make money by shopping and delivering groceries, there are worse jobs to have than this one.

What Tips For Shopping Success Instacart?

    1. Make sure the picture on your app looks exactly the same as what the customer ordered. Customers tend to be very particular about their groceries, so if you aren’t paying attention, you could end up getting a lower tip. If you aren’t sure what something is, ask the customer.
    2.  Double-check the customer’s address. If you get it wrong and have to drive back to correct it, you might lose out on a tip.
    3.  Bring a reusable bag or box to put the groceries in. If you don’t have anything to put the groceries in, you might have to buy a bag, which the customer would then be charged for.
    4.  Always arrive within the estimated arrival time. If you’re running behind, you should at least let the customer know. If you aren’t sure how to do this, you can use the “We’re here” button on the app.

    Bottom Line

Instacart allows you to make money by shopping for groceries and then delivering them to customers. If you want to start making money with Instacart, you should first sign up to become a shopper. Then, when you get your first order, you’ll know what to expect. When you’re picking up and dropping off groceries, you should follow these tips so you can deliver the best service to customers and earn a good tip. With enough hours and hard work, you could make several hundred dollars a week with Instacart.
